Dear Parents and Students,
It is an honor to be the principal of Hawthorne High School, a title that I hold very seriously. I have no doubt that all of us - students, teachers and parents - will achieve our goal of academic success for every student at our school. Our goal must be collective in its focus and passionate in its pursuit.
My challenge to every student is to work to the best of your ability, and if you do so, your goal of a high school diploma will be reached. There are four simple ideals that you must follow as young adults in order to be successful: Respect yourself and who you are as an individual; respect this educational institution and what it stands for; respect your fellow students for whom they are; and most importantly respect the educators who give you valuable instruction daily. As a young adult and as a Hawthorne Cougar, if you follow these simple ideals you will be successful.
Finally, I ask of you not to take these four years at Hawthorne High School lightly. These may be the best, most rewarding four years of your life, and you will always remember them for the maturity you assume, the friendships you make, and the knowledge you gain. This process will happen to all of you. Make sure you cherish the moments.
