Mrs. Jacquelyne D.E. Ramirez
Greetings, Cougars!
I am happy to serve as one of your associate principals here at Hawthorne High School. Thank you to all who have welcomed me into the courageous Cougar family!
I was born and raised on the small island of Molokai in Hawaii, my upbringing taught me to value community and citizenship as a leader. I am the fourth generation of an immigrant family and I am multiethnic. My large, loving family lives a simple life filled with hard work and gratitude. Tradition and community are important to me. My values of Aloha and Ohana are evident in the work I do.
I earned my B. A. in Communication Studies from Loyola Marymount University and later attended Concordia University to earn my Masters in Educational Administration and administrative credential. Before teaching, I was the Program Director for a communication consulting firm in Beverly Hills and worked in marketing and PR. I continue to work in the communication and leadership private sector and have continued to help educators of the future as an adjunct professor of education at Mount Saint Mary University in Los Angeles. I am also certified in leadership training through The Boomerang Project and have found leadership to be a consistent passion throughout my educational experiences and career. I come from a family of educators thus having access to a resource of diverse educational strategies, practices, and technology.
I look forward to being a catalyst for positive change.
