As an alumnus of this district (graduated from Leuzinger High School in 1996) and community member, my passion to teach is motivated by my need to help inspire, challenge and support kids like me to surpass their own expectation of themselves. Growing up in an immigrant family of eight, my desire to pursue higher education as the fourth child was at times inconceivable to my machista father; however I found the means to support myself through college and graduate studies regardless. Although I initially anticipated Law as my choice of profession, finding teaching has given me a greater satisfaction in helping in the pursuit of dreams.
